Disk Cleanup

Disk cleanup function helps clean up the files under a specific folder when the size of that folder is getting too large. It can be found in System category in setup mode

Disk cleanup has many convenient settings that allow you to decide under what condition to clean and when to clean. It even allows you to set timepoints to run the clean-up task according to your convenience, one common instance of which is when the machine is not busy.

Item Description
Root Directory The root directory under which files will be cleaned up.
Include Sub-directories
  • Unchecked: only files under the root directory will be cleaned up.
  • Checked: all files under the root directory and its sub folders will be cleaned up.
File Type Filter The file types to be cleaned up: it could be images, text files, or both.
Cleanup Schedule Schedule specific timepoints of a day to run the clean-up task.
Interval

Run clean-up at certain intervals.

Note: Clean-up will slow system down therefore it's not recommended to run it at a very short intervals.
Cleanup Criteria
  • Record count greater than: run clean-up task when the root folder size is greater than the given threshold.
  • Record older than: run clean-up task when the files in it is older than given threshold.
  • Disk space used greater than: run clean-up task when the disk space used is over the given threshold.
  • Free disk space less than: run clean-up task when the remaining disk space is less than the given threshold.

After you set up all parameters, click Apply to save them.
